American Airlines Lounges
American Airlines is opening its exclusive Flagship First Class dining rooms to business class passengers

American Airlines is opening its Flagship First Class dining rooms to business class passengers at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Miami International Airport. The sit-down dining venues will be open to flyers on long-haul international, transcontinental, and Hawaii routes beginning on September 15.
According to American Airlines, the airline is dropping the 'First' from its lounges, which were previously named 'Flagship First Dining,' as American phases out international first class. This move supports its upgraded business class product aboard jets flying international routes, which replaced the legacy first class cabin.
The New Flagship Experience For International Flyers
The airline is investing heavily in business class simply because customer demand for first class has drastically dropped. Yet, customers are overwhelmingly willing to pay premiums for luxurious business class suites. American Airlines' senior vice president of customer experience and design, Rhonda Crawford, commented on the new lounge policy, stating that the airline is delivering an even more elevated hospitality experience that begins well before customers step on board.
The following are the key features of the new Flagship experience:
American Invests In Its Biggest And Best Product Yet In Texas
Beyond opening up the airline's finest catering and lounges to business class customers, American's mega-hub at DFW is also receiving a long list of other improvements. A private check-in facility is being constructed in Terminal D, where the Flagship Lounge is located, for faster and easier security screening. The airline is planning staggered waves of arrivals throughout the day to offset the surge in passengers arriving and departing within minutes of each other.
The investment in modernizing DFW is valued at $4 billion, which includes the entirely new Terminal F, set to open in early 2027. The new Admirals Lounge in Terminal C will feature a grab-and-go meal counter for travelers in a hurry, dubbed 'Provisions by Admirals Club.'
The LAX Flagship Experience: Late Arrival On The West Coast
Private Flagship dining will also reopen at Los Angeles International Airport in late 2026. The private dining inside the American lounge at Terminal 4 was completely shut down at the start of the pandemic. The redesigned lounge at LAX is also slated to be open to business class flyers, providing a luxurious retreat for long-haul travelers flying to and from one of AA's many destinations across the Pacific.
The lounge will debut fresh, local fare, including a 'California artisan board' and highly anticipated new dishes such as the signature Thai basil and chili crispy shrimp entrée.
